    The eight books of "The Letters of George Santayana" bring together over letters, many of which have been discovered in the 50 years since Sanayana's death. This sixth book covers four years of Santayana's life in Rome, his permanent residence since the late s. The present volume concludes the eight volumes of The Letters of George Santayana. The Letters lie within the more encompassing series of The Works of George Santayana. Special recognition is due to Daniel Cory, first publisher of Santayana’s letters, and especially to the editors mentioned above.
